Dog Walks

We offer group walks for 1 hour in the forest.

1 hour group dog walking

This is our most popular service, suited to sociable adult dogs who are comfortable being around other dogs. Usually taking place around lunchtime, we collect and walk a small group of up to 4 dogs together in the New Forest, matched carefully for personality, breed and energy levels.

Activities during the walk typically include enrichment through scentwork, play, trail exploration and games with the walker – varied according to the group. Where possible we try to walk the same dogs together each time to keep new introductions to a minimum and so that they can relax in each other’s company.

All dogs are towelled as much as possible before being returned home.

Group walks are great for using up mental energy as well as physical energy!

They don’t suit dogs prone to resource guarding (toys, food, people, spaces), nervous dogs, puppies under 9 months, or elderly dogs – but one of our other services probably will do!

For peace of mind, your dog will have the same walker each time. We can arrange a back up walker for holiday cover or any unavailable days if wished.

These are our requirements for dogs to join a group walk:

  • Male dogs over 14 months old need to have been neutered
  • Female dogs must not be in season during their walk (they do not need to have been spayed)
  • Your dog needs to have no food, resource or territorial aggression with other dogs
  • Your dog can be on or off lead at your choice – if on lead they need to be manageable for us to handle without undue pulling.
  • If off lead they need to have reliable recall – we will check this for ourselves and will not allow any dog off lead unless we are confident of their recall; we will ask you to sign a disclaimer that you have authorised us to walk your dog off lead in safe areas when away from roads or obvious hazards. All our walked dogs are put on lead around forest ponies, cattle and deer and approaching car parks for safety.
  • If your dog pulls strongly while on lead, we can arrange one to one training with you and your dog to help you with this, before they join a group walk.

Mrs Cole and the people who work for her are reliable. You always walk my dogs on time and they love their walks. Very pleased with the service received.

I am so glad I found you! My dog is obviously having a great time when he’s out with you and his new dog friends! Massive thanks for the care you take of my dog.

Forest Pet Services have been a really wonderful find. My mother can’t get around as easily and her cocker spaniel needs longer walks a few times a week. They have been flexible with the time slots and short notice changes when necessary. They are friendly, cheerful and supportive. I would very much recommend them.
